He was the CEO (1992-2001) of Infoline Dowjones Telerate, Karachi, Pakistan. He established turnkey franchise operations and pioneered financial paging and information services. He was also an Adjunct professor of management at the prestigious Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Pakistan. He played a key role in setting up the College of Business Management which has recently acquired university status.
He was a former Director (Vice President) of the European, Middle East & Africa Training Center of Citibank, UK covering over 32 countries with an annual budget of 5 million pounds. He spearheaded the use of “Bourse Game “(foreign exchange & money market) simulation into new emerging markets of Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has extensive experience in starting new business operations and product development.
He started his career at Citibank Athens, Greece, as an executive trainee in operations. He then worked as Manager, Systems Development and Office Automation in Saudi Arabia and Greece. Subsequently, he worked in the Treasury and Investment Banking, managing a portfolio of US Dollar 2 billion. During this period, he traded foreign exchange, money market products and financial futures. He was instrumental in the introduction of Telerate and Treasury automation into Citibank, Saudi Arabia (samba).
He is also a Director of Aviva Financial Group, Canada which has interests in investments and real estate.
Mr. Naqi Azam holds a Masters degree in Business Management from the prestigious Asian Institute of Management, Philippines and a B.S in Business Economics from the University of the Philippines. |
